IPWEA NSW is dedicated to providing high quality and flexible training and assessment options for those involved in the Public Works and Road Safety Industries. In order to do that the following policies and procedures have been developed to ensure that we comply with relevant legislation and standards. For those intending to participate in the 2 day Project Management Course aligned to the unit LGACOMP025A Manage a Local Government Project from the Local Government Training Package, please read these documents before enrolment:
Please note that we are unable to transfer your workshop registrations if within the 5 day cancellation period. If you are cancel after this time frame you will be required to pay the full registration cost.
A calendar for the next six months can be downloaded above. This shows all scheduled courses, however our full suite of courses can be seen in the course outline section above. PLease note that this calendar is updated on a regular basis. 2. I notice that the courses on the program are only for NSW, do you offer these courses in other states? Unfortunately, the courses on the program above are only for the NSW Division. Each Division is responsible for their own Professional Development Program and will be able to provide you with their current programs. Having said this, the NSW Division does not discourage registrations from other states. 3. I missed out on attending a course last time it was offered due to either work committments, location or the fact that it was full, but it is not featured on the program for the next six months. Does that mean I have missed it? Unfortunately, or fortunately as the case may be, we have a large suite of courses and are not able to offer them all during the calendar year. Therefore, most courses tend to be offered in various regions every 18 months. Sometimes this means that you may have to wait for a period of time before the course is offered again. If the course was popular and there is a waiting list, we may offer the course sooner. To ensure that you do not miss out when it comes around again, please place yourself on the course waiting list. 4. How do I register for a course? In order to register for a course, please download the relevant registration form from above and fax it back to IPWEA (NSW Division) on (02) 9283 5255. Once the course has been confirmed, you will receive further course details by email and a tax invoice for payment prior to the course date. 5. I want to attend a course, but need to know where it is being held. Registrations for courses are confirmed at least two weeks prior to the course date. At this time delegates are also informed if the course had to be cancelled. Unfortunately we do not distribute further details of the course until this time to prevent delegates from booking accommodation and travel arrangements that may not be able to be refunded if the course is cancelled. If your H.R. department needs to know specific details prior to the approval of your registration, please request that they contact Caitlin Williams on (02) 8267 3007. 6. I registered for a course but it had to be cancelled due to a lack of numbers. How do I stop this from happening again? Unfortunately we are unable to prevent courses from being cancelled due to a lack of numbers, as we have a minimum number of registrations required per course. However, in the past some delegates have rung their colleagues at neighbouring Councils to ensure that enough registrations are received to hold the course, and the course has run. We understand that this can be a tedious task, and we are able to offer an incentive to a delegate willing to do this. For more information, please contact Caitlin Williams on (02) 8267 3007. 7. How can I be made aware of courses as they become available? So that you can be notified as soon as a course of interest is open for registrations, you can be placed on a waiting list and the details will be emailed to you prior to them being made public. To be placed on this list, please email your name and the course title to pd@ipwea.org.au .
